Welcome to Regenerative Medicine Club

Our board is composed of a diverse group of UCLA students whose research experience spans wet labs, dry labs, clinical research, and beyond. We are committed to connecting aspiring regenerative medicine researchers with the opportunities and mentorship they need to thrive in their work.

The Executive Board

Shimona Gupta

Co-President

Shimona is a Senior majoring in Human Biology & Society. She is excited to be a part of RMC because of her passion for community health and interest in the advancements of regenerative medicine. As a current pre-med student, she is eager to explore the intersection of technology and medicine, and I look forward to learning about stem cell research and connecting with faculty who are driving innovation in the field.

Soumya Bukkapatnam

External Vice President

Soumya is a Junior majoring in Cognitive Science. After graduation, she plans to join medical school, and become a cardiologist. The topic that intrigues her the most in regenerative medicine is STEM cell therapies to treat ischemic brain injuries. She is currently researching stress applied to arteries during thrombectomies.

Ken Woo

Research Director

Ken is a Sophomore majoring in MCDB with a minor in Biomedical Research. On top of RMC, Ken works at Beckman Laser Institute working on projects involving investigating selective stem cell differentiation and phototherapy in oncology. Ken aims to continue his research efforts on stem cells in the future by attending medical school.
